Ryan´s all at sea for fresh CBBC series

Fleetwood schoolboy Ryan Wilkinson will once again be a firm fixture on our TV screens this autumn, as the second series of kids comedy drama ALL AT SEA makes waves on the CBBC channel.
The Cardinal Allen pupil, 13, won the role last year while attending Scream Theatre Schools in Blackpool, and following the success of the first series, has spent much of this summer filming the second season at studios in Manchester and on location in Scarborough.
Ryan´s a very popular student at Scream, and has worked so hard since he joined us a couple of years ago, explains Tom Morris, principal of the theatre school.  He´s had some very impressive jobs on shows such as Shameless and Doctors, so it was only a matter of time before he landed the leading role in his own series.  Ryan´s an inspiration to the younger generation of Screamers, and is such a conscientious and considerate young man, we´re all so proud of him.
Ryan isn´t the only Screamer to feature in the series: it also stars Olivia Cosgrove, pupil at its Manchester school based at MediaCity, and Blackpool student Owen Salthouse as Ryan´s arch-enemy.  Other students from the school have been spotted at its annual Acting showcase held at the Odeon Cinema in the resort town in April this year, leading to over a dozen youngsters from the Mowbray Drive-based school being given their big break on the CBBC comedy drama.
The Oscars is held at the cinema every year, and we always make sure we get casting directors from London and Manchester along to see our youngsters in action, explains Tom.  It really paid dividends for them, as we have a large proportion of our kids starring in the show - we joked that All at Sea should´ve been renamed All by Scream, such was our dominance in the cast!
The school, founded in 1998, has been a breeding ground for talented youngsters across the North West and beyond since its inception; notable students past and present include Ashley Luke Lloyd, who most recently could be seen in the international touring cast of Mamma Mia!, BAFTA Award-winning Danny Kerr (Disney´s Maleficent) and young Todd Bell, who can be seen in the current cast of Billy Elliot the Musical in London´s West End.
ALL AT SEA airs on the CBBC Channel every Friday at 5.30pm, from this coming Friday (26th September).
