We´re looking for Teachers of:

... for our centres in Blackpool, Chorley and MediaCity!



Since its inception in Blackpool in 1998, Scream Theatre Schools has grown to include centres in three of the North West´s major urban conurbations, and is continually looking to expand it´s rosta of self-employed Teachers of Acting, Singing and Street Dance.  Each week over two-hundred students attend one of Scream´s Triple Threat Academies in Blackpool, MediaCity and Chorley, studying an hour of Acting, an hour of Singing and an hour of Street Dance.

Scream is ran by industry professionals, and expects new teachers to be experts in their chosen field; to prepare our students for productions and performances, teach technique, and ready them for potential professional work.  We work closely with our sister company at Scream Management, based at MediaCityUK, which sources professional work for our students as regular performers in Coronation StreetEmmerdale, London´s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Disney´s up-coming movie Maleficent and many more.
We only employ industry professionals and creatives who are able to push back the boundaries and propel our talented students to the next level.
  1. To deliver teaching sessions to groups of students between the ages of 6 and 18, in age-specific groups;
  2. To work with the Principal on expanding the curriculum offered, to ensure a rotation of diverse topics covered in depth appropriate to the students´ age range;
  3. To create, arrange, source, write or adapt pieces appropriate to their subject (Acting, Dance, Singing);
  4. In collaboration with the Principal and other teachers, to direct and take the lead in various areas of school productions, such as the HITS, Presentation Day, Christmas showcases;
  5. To be an eminent authority on the specific technique in their chosen Performing Arts discipline, and to lead by example;
  • Qualifications and/or professional experience in the Performing Arts;
  • A passion for working with and inspiring young people;
  • Strong ability to devise, direct and create, week-in, week-out;
  • A flair for generating creative ideas and the ability to present them to others;
  • A good working knowledge of the current industry standards for young performers;
  • Enthusiasm, passion, patience, self-discipline;
  • The ability to work with others, at all levels, as part of the Scream team;
  • Organisation skills and self-time management skills;
  • To be resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to solve problems quickly;
  • You will be working with children closely - you must have an existing and relevant Criminal Records Check (DBS, formerly known as CRB), or be willing to work towards obtaining one before commencing employment with us;
  • Classes are held at a variety of venues, including MediaCity (Saturday AM) and Chorley (Saturday PM).
  • Our main hub of activity is our HQ in Blackpool, where we require teachers for Wednesday 4.30-7.30 and all day Saturday.
